  • Sir,
i think we just wasting our precious time, money & energy on this silly issue of GENERAL ELECTION - 2009.. Instead we need to concentrate more on how to make India safe frm all problems like Terrorism, Communism etc etc including this grim recession period as well.. Whoever wins its just his/her electoral win.., butnot a moral win.., for a moral win they should deliver what they promise...

  • Sir,
regaarding varun's hate speech i saw your debate. You are inviting people like Goradia and discussing such bitter issues with him. What is the use of this?He is worse than Varun.Being a matured and old citizen he must speek in a good sense which we couln't see there.
i will appreciate Mr. Suhel Seth 1000 times for his part because he thinks like a common man of Indian society.Kindly call people of his grade for debates and let the debate be fruitful with a final verdict. Kindly don't finish your debates without any conclusion.

tell the people the correct result.
    ex. Varun's hate speech.
when you have a solid proof with you you must show your courage to tell the people that this happened and this is 100% wrong.

    Sir,

I am giving below the statement of Mr. V. Kalyanam (age 87) Personal Secretary to Mahatma Gandhi on the forthcoming LokSabha Poll.

    DESIA PAADHUKAAPPU KAZHAGAM

UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF MR. V. KALYANAM,
    PERSONAL SECRETARY TO MAHATMA GANDHI

WILL CONTEST IN THE PARLIAMENTARY ELECTIONS,
TO RESTORE GANDHIAN IDEOLOGY AS THE CENTRAL THEME

Desia Paadhugaappu Kazhagam ( meaning National Protection Party ) a registered political party has decided to contest in the forthcoming parliamentary elections under the leadership of Mr. V. Kalyanam , personal secretary to Mahatma Gandhi.

In recent years, the electoral battle in India have more focus on political bickerings and personal ambitions of politicians and their family members, which have made the common man in the country feel unhappy and helpless.

In a democracy, the elections give great opportunity to the citizens to express their choice and have a quality of government that they would desire. For this to happen, it is necessary that in the elections , the concerned citizens who understand the seriousness and severity of the issues facing Indian democracy should come out openly and contest the elections to set right the conditions.

Clean politics is vitally necessary for healthy democracy, that would protect the interests of the deprived and downtrodden in particular. Politics can not be cleansed without clean people getting into it.

Further, it is sad that the Gandhian philosophy of ahimsa, truth, probity in personal and public life have not been highlighted as the principles by any political party in the country. Looking at the All India scenario, one wonders as to whether any political party swears by Gandhian ideals at all.

It appears that there is fear in the minds of many people that in the absence of money power and muscle power , it would be impossible to win elections in the present scenario. But, we are yet to give a try for honest people to get into the electoral fray and provide an opportunity to the citizens to choose them amongst the various contenders. Perhaps, if concerned and honest people contest elections, people may support them and provide some surprise to the politicians who seem to think that only manoveuring and corrupt practices and alliances even if unprincipled can win elections.

More than winning or losing in the elections, the important fact is that when concerned people swearing by Gandhian ideology in personal and public life would contest in the elections, it would give a sense of hope that the tide of corruption and dishonest dealings would be stemmed. The dishonest practices would be challenged even if they would not be defeated totally and immediately.

Concerned persons like Mahatma Gandhi and Jayprakash Narain were able to do positive things and create an atmosphere that gave confidence to the people about probity in public life. But, today, the intellectuals and concerned people largely remain as armchair critics. This appears to be the real issue.

With the objective of restoring Gandhian ideology as the central theme in the forthcoming parliamentary elections, Mr. V. Kalyanam, Personal Secretary to Mahatma Gandhi has come forward to give a lead to the nation by supporting good and committed citizens, capable of meeting the Gandhian standards in private and public life to contest the elections.

Mr. V. Kalyanam, aged 87 who served Mahatma Gandhi as Personal Secretary during the last five years of Gandhiji’s life and who had the opportunity to observe and work closely with this great soul, feels that enough is enough and struggle to restore Gandhian standards in Indian public life cannot any more be delayed.

Mr. V.Kalyanam is the President of DESIA PAADHUKAAPPU KAZHAGAM

DESIA PAADHUKAAPPU KAZHAGAM will contest the election in south Madras Parliamentary constituency amongst others. Mr. N.S. Venkataraman, a chemical engineer by profession and Founder Trustee of Nandini Voice For The Deprived, a Chennai based NGO serving the cause of deprived and downtrodden , will be one of the contestants in the election.

  • practising a value system of honesty and simple living is a prerequisite to check the evils of copying the life styles of the celebrities & riches.

sensitising the youth about dignity of labour and the conviction TRUTH TRIUMPHS, can be promoted by the LEADERS ONLY,when they create productive employment and set up yard sticks for their incomes and affluence.

  • Why i should vote? What did my India/netas given to me to encourage to vote.Should i get impressed by the reservations (as i am OC candidate) or gundagiri by the netas over the poor people or by the people who openly buy the justice openly but without proof, etc....
My quesion is why the option "not interested to vote for any candidate" is made available in EVM by the EC though it was mentioned in our law.Indian netas so far introduced many policies but it is in the direction of disintegrity of the nation like in Andhra Pradesh 4% reservation for muslims on religion basis,SP balming batla encounter as a fake encounter but still people support him.Though if i vote now can these reservations will be eliminated.PM says India will take any action in the interest of the people then why any punishment was declared to Afzal. There are lot of reasons why we should not vote.

  • Sir,

I feel both congress and BJP have ruled the country from the past 11 years. Instead of taking so many parties together. they can only join and run the govenment. Anyway both put together they will get more than 350 seats.

As both the parties have got good leaders and experience. That is better for country.

Otherwise all Shibu Soren, Mulayam Mayawati will become king makers, so the country will suffer.

    Hai!

    Congress is always saying that
they are worried about the Minority
muslims , but when the time come
    on distributing the portfolios
    they forget the largest minorities
in India. No top portfolios are not
    given to muslims. I think
    Mr. Salman Khursid would have
been the right choise of foreign
    Minister,and speaker post to
    Dr. Farook Abdulla.

Now I think what BJP is saying is
    true that congress is playing
    vote bank politics.

( Saach Kabhie kaadwa hotha hai)

    best regards

  • You would have noticed that while the National Anthem was being played out before and after the swearing in ceremony, the only person standing at ease and with hands folded in a leisurely fashion was Dayanidhi Maran. He was even looking here and there. This was deplorable because his behaviour amounted to disrespect to National Anthem and what a pity he will be a Cabinet Minister for 5years.Will he be able to be true to his oath?
