AIADMK CPM Alliance for lok sabha poll 2009

Lok Sabha Election News blog has one more big Update on Upcoming Loksabha poll 2009.

As expected earlier , Regional Political Party All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) and The Communist Party of India (Marxist) (abbreviated CPI(M) or CPM ) have officially joined hands and formed alliance for Upcoming Lok Sabha poll in 2009.

All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) was founded by MG Ramachandran on October 17, 1972 is now currently lead by J. Jayalalithaa. AIDMK has Presence in Tamilnadu.

Communist Party of India (Marxist) also known as left parties , have presence in 3 states of india namely West Bengal , Tripura and Kerala. Prakash Karat is Secretary of CPI or CPM. Basudev Acharia is Leader of CPI CPM in 14th Loksabha while Sitaram Yechuri is of Rajyasabha.

AIDMK has zero seats in 14th loksabha while CPI CPM has 44 seats in Loksabha and 14 seats in Rajya Sabha.

- Any Idea Why CPI - CPM agreed to go for alliance with AIDMK lead by Jayalalithaa
which won no seat in Loksabha poll 2004 ?

- What do you think about the AIADMK CPM Alliance for Lok sabha 2009 poll / Election ?
Will they win the Loksabha election ?

  • The ADMK is almost going to sweep the polls as the performance of both the DMK and Congress goverments are worse. The alliance arithmetic also favours ADMK, it is a well known fact in TN that congress needs no opoistion in TN its leaders themselves are enough

  • Though ADMK could not get even a single seat out of 40 in 2004 polls. This time an alliance with MDMK, CPM can get them some 20-25 seats. Since the opposite DMK led alliance is weak with PMK out of it.
