India Assembly elections in 2012 Dates

Assembly elections in 2012 for five states of India, have been declared by the Election commission of india. The Indian states where the assembly elections will be held are .... Uttar Pradesh, GOA, Punjab, Uttarakhand, and Manipur.

No doubt that, amongst this, Uttarpradesh elections will have more eye on it compared to other state assembly elections as UP is the largest state of india and also considered as Political capital of india.All major parties like BJP, Congress, BSP, Samajwadi party have presence there.

BJP ruled Gujarat will also have assembly election in 2012 as Narendra modi successfully completed 5 year terms 2nd time. ( Though he was CM for 3 times, first time he wall called from Delhi and did not have to win election )

UP - Uttarpradesh is curently ruled by Mayavati's Bahujan Samajwadi Party.
GOA - is ruled by Indian national congress.
Manipur assembly is under Indian national congress
Uttarakhand has BJP chief Minister
Punjab is ruled by Shiromani Akali Dal

Assembly Elections in 2012 will be held in Goa, Manipur, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand between January 28 and March 3 while Uttar Pradesh will see a seven-phased polling: February 4, 8, 11, 15, 19, 23 and February 28. Goa will go to the vidhan sabha polls on March 3 2012.
